Working from home: what people really want in their home office |
| Sometimes the “home office” is little more than a small nook off the kitchen |
|
Recent research shows that sometimes builders are not providing what people looking for a home office regard as “the essentials”. Sometimes the “home office” is little more than a small nook off the kitchen with barely space for a desk. But we know that often little things can make a huge difference to the comfort and convenience of the homeworker.
Herself a homeworker for several decades, Dr Wendy Sarkissian discusses what’s in the recent research and suggests some principles for good house design to accommodate the homeworker. This illustrated presentation provides food for thought and the opportunity to add new principles to the list, based on the direct experience of builders. |
